A YouGov poll this week provides evidence of a positive outlook. The majority of those surveyed thought that bleak prognoses in the media were either exaggerated or incorrect. The same survey showed that those who took a positive view of the UK’s future outside the EU were also about 25% more likely to believe that baked beans ‘can contribute to a great evening meal’ than those with a more concerned outlook. Those who were the least positive were also least likely (12%) to find Channel 4’s new show ‘Naked Attraction’ to be ‘fun and interesting’. Positivity breeds positivity?
